-Chair-Moi! I’m Ava, a 3rd-year Biomedical Sciences student at Amsterdam University College and this year’s AFSA Chair. As Chair, my tasks include creating agendas, leading meetings, and overseeing the work of the board and the committees. I also maintain contact with certain sponsors and represent the association at external functions.
My goals for this board year include increasing membership, securing new sponsorships to support the association’s activities, and offering more opportunities for our members to network and build community. -Treasurer and Vice chair-Hello! My name is Eppu, I recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Film Studies from the University of Amsterdam. Even though I am not a student anymore, I am continuing in AFSA as this year’s Treasurer and Vice Chair.
As Treasurer, my responsibilities include taking care of the association’s finances by creating and maintaining a formal budget plan, working closely with Committee Treasurers, handling sponsorships, and managing the membership register. I also coordinate and order the AFSA overalls. As Vice Chair, I support the Chair in their work and help ensure smooth communication and collaboration between the board and committees. My goals for this year in AFSA include growing us into a more established student association, reaching new (Finnish) students across the Netherlands, and most importantly, ensuring AFSA remains a safe community for people in similar situations. In my free time, I love reading, going to the cinema, and exploring new and exciting places in the Netherlands and elsewhere. -SECRETARY AND sOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR-Moi! My name is Daniela, and I am currently a Bachelor’s student in Global Arts, Culture, and Politics. This year, I am continuing my involvement in AFSA as both the Secretary and Social Media Coordinator.
As Secretary, I take care of the association’s internal communication, meeting notes, and overall organization, while as Social Media Manager, I run AFSA’s channels, keeping our community updated and engaged. I will also be focusing on the Cultural Committee, where I am excited to organize outings and events that highlight the vibrant cultural life here in the Netherlands. Outside of AFSA, you’ll probably find me with a chai latte in hand, doing pilates, or unwinding by painting or sewing. I also love biking around Amsterdam, especially when I can use my beloved Museumkaart to explore new museums and exhibitions. My goals for this year include strengthening AFSA’s cultural presence, creating opportunities for members to connect through shared experiences, and making sure everyone feels welcome in our community 💙. My name is Olivia, and I’m a third-year PPLE student at the University of Amsterdam. After really enjoying my time as a committee member last year, I’m excited to continue my AFSA journey this year as AFSA's new Communications Officer. In this role, I’m responsible for managing the AFSA email, reaching out to venues and potential sponsors, and keeping our website and calendar up to date. I’ll also be focusing on the Party Committee, where I’m excited to plan fun and inclusive events for our members! My goals for this year include organising a diverse range of events, increasing membership, and strengthening our partnerships with Finnish and Dutch organisations in the Netherlands.
