I joined AFSA because I wanted to be part of something that brings people together and creates opportunities for students to grow and connect, not to forget bringing the best bits of Finnish Student Culture into Amsterdam. When I’m not studying or busy with AFSA, you can find me either deep in a book 📖, getting lost in a game 🎮, or procrastinating like a pro 😅. I’m Maija, your AFSA secretary for this year! I’ve been calling Amsterdam home for a year now, diving into my second year of Media, Art, Design, and Architecture studies. 🌸
When I first moved here, I thought I’d have to leave behind all the fun Finnish student traditions—cue the overalls and epic events. So you can imagine my happiness when I found out I could keep a piece of Finland with me here! 🤗 Now, as a board member, I’m thrilled to help bring even more exciting events to life and meet awesome new people along the way. 🥳 When I’m not AFSA-ing, you’ll probably find me sipping on an overpriced coffee with friends or drowning in a sea of uni readings (so fun, right?). ☕✨ As for AFSA, I’m excited to see what the upcoming year is going to bring! We have a great team with new creative ideas without forgetting the OG events. 🤩 So hopefully I’ll see many of you there! 🥰 
✨Hello guys🇫🇮, my name is ✨✨✨✨✨Taika✨✨✨✨✨ and I’m a masters🎓 student in 🤑Finance🤑. True to my study, I’m currently the treasurer💰and vice-president of AFSA for the board year 2024-25. AFSA is like my home far away from home✨😎 and it gives me the opportunity to enjoy 🇫🇮 culture without being in 🇫🇮. It really helps me with homesickness😭 and the feeling of being left out from 🇫🇮 student events. I’m sure I’m not the only one to feel this way and that’s why I want to help create a home like environment for my fellow 🇫🇮 students✨. Outside of school😮💨, I like to read or do something active or just hang out with friends. My passion is to try new things 😎 and the more it involves speed, the better🤡. I’m also into ❄️sports and I go skiing/snowboarding ⛷️🏂every year to Lapland🥶. I’m looking forward to the coming year and making new friends through AFSA🤩.
